Memorandum for Inspector of Ordnance, Torpedo Station

Please have the compasses of the “Fortune” adjusted, as you request, before her departure.

The matter of the men - to provide her a proper complement for the service – has been referred to the Bureau of Navigation. Please do everything that is necessary or required to fit her for the performance of the duty to which she has been assigned by Bureau’s order of the 21st Inst.
