Abstract
This paper will attempt to determine whether the principles of Mahan have fallen victim to the advances of 20th century technology as Mr. Kaufmann suggests, or whether there might be some guidance in the Admiral's writings about dreadnoughts and coaling stations which could throw light upon the strategic problems of the nuclear age.
