Abstract

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Portuguese Naval War College in Lisbon. Both the Portuguese Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Leitao, and the Director of the Portuguese Na val War College, Rear Admiral Fonseca, have visited Newport in recent years. This visit provided an excellent opportunity for me and for our Dean of Academics, Captain Jim Kramer, to learn more about their college and their curricula. We lectured at the college and had very good discussions on subject matter and teaching methods at our respective colleges. We found a good deal of similarity in these areas.
