Abstract

Why should those of us in the research and development community be interested in fleet tactics? It is often argued that we only design the weapons, we do not fight them. True, in a narrow sense, but in the modern navy, as well as all previous ones, technology and tactics are, and were, closely coupled and cannot be treated in isolation.
