Naval War College Review
Abstract
The victory of the Democratic Party of Japan over the Liberal Democratic Party, long the nation’s ruling party, seems to promise a genuine revolution in how the country is governed and to open the way to far-reaching reforms in the making of policy. But the effect on the U.S.-Japan alliance may not be so dramatic.
